Consumers Energy Group is a leading supplier of fixed price heating oil to consumers.
Consumers Energy Group is a leading supplier of fixed price heating oil to consumers. When you join Consumers Energy Group, we purchase your long term future fuel requirements on the market. You get immunity from market forces, speculators, and price spikes. The contract ensures your oil will be available when you need it. The customer does not need to prepay for this fuel or pay a deposit.
Our Fleet of Oil Trucks are your pipeline from the barge facilities to your home or building.
Our computers will track your fuel consumption, and based on degree day weather factors, will project the next fuel delivery. We aim for a 80% delivery of the fuel tanks usable capacity. We take into consideration the month of the year, the amount of cold weather elapsed since the last delivery (expressed in degree_days), the size and construction of your building, type of heating equipment, and hot water usage (such as kitchens and baths.)
For commercial customers, we can also deliver fuel on a calendar or dated basis. This is useful where the fuel is used for manufacturing purposes and is not affected by weather.
The most widely used grade of fuel is #2 Home Heating Oil. All of our fuel meets all city, state, and federal specifications, including ASTM and Colonial Pipeline standards. It is designed to burn cleanly, it is free of water or contaminants, and provides 139,000 BTU's per gallon. It is dyed red as per Federal regulations to prevent its use in motor vehicles.
Since joining Consumers Energy Group this has been the first winter I didn’t have to worry about my heating budget. My last buying group didn’t fix my price of oil, and I ended up paying high prices two winters in a row. They kept telling me to be patient. Since every year seems to bring another energy crisis, it made sense to lock in my oil price with Consumers.

My last oil dealer verbally promised my price was capped,
but when prices shot up, he suddenly got amnesia. That’s
when I called Consumers Energy because they put it in
writing.
